IDPH: 2 Kankakee men die from COVID-19, 113 dead Tuesday

Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced 1,614 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 113 additional deaths.

Among today’s announced deaths included two males in their 70s in Kankakee County.  Three individuals from Will County including a male in his 40s were also among today’s announced deaths.

There have now been 5,525 deaths in Illinois resulting from a total of 122,848 cases of the pandemic.  Illinois is nearing a total of one million speciments collected to date. The current count stands at 934,704. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from May 26–June 1 is 7%.
