Kankakee Public Library’s Board of Trustees has decided to temporarily close the library starting Wednesday, March 18th and tentatively planning to reopen on Tuesday, March 31 at 9am.

“During this closing period the library will continue to offer several services via our website that can be accessed with a Kankakee Public Library card.  Kanopy provides TV shows and movies for kids and adults all for free.” the Library said in a statement on Wednesday.

Citing a fluid, evolving situation, the Library said an extension of  the closing may be necessary.  For the latest, the Library is asking you follow their Facebook page, or website for the most up to date information.

Fines will not incur during this time. Renewals will be automatic and the materials can be returned upon reopening.  All programming, meetings, and rentals are postponed during the closing period.  If your organization was set to meet at the library please contact them directly for more detailed information.
