Kankakee County residents looking to spay or neuter their cats are in luck, as Spay Illinois Pet Well Clinics is partnering with Kankakee County Animal Control to provide a Cat Spay/Neuter Transport program during March. With spring quickly approaching, this program aims to reduce the number of litters born during “Kitten Season” and prevent overcrowding in animal shelters.
For a limited time, any cat spay or neuter scheduled and performed at Spay Illinois from March 1st to May 31st, 2023, with a coupon provided by Kankakee County Animal Control for $30 off, will only cost cat owners $55. Pet transports will be provided on March 15th, 22nd, and 29th from Kankakee County Animal Control. Additional services, such as microchipping and vaccines, are also available for an extra fee.
Spaying female cats can prevent unwanted litters, as well as certain cancers and uterine infections, while neutering male cats can reduce the incidence of inappropriate marking/spraying and aggression. The program is limited to two coupons per household and requires proof of residency and pet ownership. If a cat’s rabies vaccination is not up to date, it will need to be performed at the owner’s expense at the time of surgery.
Spay Illinois is committed to making quality veterinary care accessible to all pet owners through affordable services and educational programs.
