Kankakee Area HS Varsity Football Preview: Goal Line

It’s Week 2 on the Goal Line! Nothing says it’s time for the Friday Night Lights to kick on than when those schools colored hoodies and sweatpants start filling stadiums across the area. Here is a preview of this week’s games: 

Bishop McNamara Fighting Irish opened their season at home last week with an impressive 49-21 win over Bloom. The squad looks to continue their winning ways as they travel to Coal City to take on the Coalers. Game time is Friday, September 6 @ 7p. 

The Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers, traveled to Rock Island last week to take on the Rocks. The Boilermakers walked away with a 36-35 win over the Rocks. The team will host the O’ Fallon Panthers in their home opener of the season. Game time is Friday, September 6 @ 7:30p. 

The Clifton Central Comets got an impressive 41-18 win last week over Georgetown-Ridge Farm. The Comets will host the Herscher Tigers in their home opener is the season. Game time is Friday, September 6 @ 7p. 

In their home opener last week the Herscher Tigers blanked Momence 43-0. They look to take their winning momentum into Clifton Central this week as they battle the Comets. Game time is Friday, September 6 @ 7p. 

The Coach Hart era has begun in Kankakee. The Kays got a 28-14 victory over Thornton last week. This week the team is home for their home opener against the Crete-Monee Warriors. Game time is Friday, September 6 @ 6:30p. 

The Manteno Panthers suffered a 47-32 loss last week to Canton. The squad looks to bounce back this week in their home opener against the Morris Redskins. Game time is Friday, September 6 @ 7p. 

The Momence Redskins kicked off their season with a loss to the Herscher Tigers 43-0. The team looks to regroup as they travel to take on Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin. Game time is Friday, September 6, @ 7p. 

The Peotone Blue Devils got themselves an impressive win last week over Manual 35-8. Their opener is this week against the Tinley Park Titans. Game time is Friday, September 6@ 7p. 

The Watseka Warriors got themselves a home opener victory last week against Oakwood 28-21. The team stays home again this week to take on the Salt Fork Storm. Game time is Friday, September 6@ 7p.
