Man shot, killed in CVS Parking lot following Domestic Disturbance call

EAST PEORIA – ISP Zone 4 Investigations is now working to unravel an incident early this morning that lead to a man being killed in a CVS Parking Lot.

According to Illinois State Police Investigations reports, the shooting resulted from a reported domestic disturbance call around 1 am this morning to a parking lot of CVS at the corner of Farmdale Road and Washington Street. East Peoria Police had responded to a domestic violence incident and were told a suspect had left the area.

“An East Peoria Police officer located the suspect vehicle in the CVS parking lot and was stabbed multiple times by the suspect. The officer shot the suspect and responding officers provided medical care to the suspect. The officer was transported to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition. The suspect was pronounced deceased on scene.” Illinois State Police Investigations said in a statement Tuesday morning.

One woman and a girl were also transported to a hospital recovering from their injuries in the domestic disturbance.

No additional officers were injured in the incident. The name of the suspect killed has not been released.

Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Zone 4 had been requested by the East Peoria Police Department to look into the case.
