LOCKPORT – A man was killed while on foot traveling southbound on Interstate 55 near mile marker 269 Monday afternoon.

According to Illinois State Police, the man was hit by a 2018 Silver Chevrolet driven by a 62-year-old Mark Brochard of Plainfield.  Police say 58-year-old Renold Bean was the pedestrian, who was later pronounced dead at AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center in Bolingbrook.
