Someone is poisoning cats in Iroquois County, ICARe says

The Iroquois County Animal Rescue announced Sunday night they have reason to believe someone in the County is intentionally poisoning cats in the area.

“We have received 3 separate people, as of today, who have reported to us that their cats have passed away quickly after returning from outdoors.” ICARe representatives said Sunday night in a social media posting.

Symptoms of the alleged poisonings including not eating or drinking and being lethargic after returning home.

“PLEASE keep your cats inside and report any suspicious activity involving cats to our shelter immediately.” ICARe said Sunday.

Iroquois County Animal Rescue can be reached at 815-429-4028.
