Chess Club

Mark your calendars every first and third Mondays of each month for Chess Club in the Kankakee Public Library! Chess Club will meet this month on July 1st and 15th in the third floor meeting room from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This club provides an atmosphere where chess players of all ages and playing levels can come together to play one another in the strategic game of chess. Invite your friends! Chessboards will be provided, but players may choose to bring in their own boards.To learn more about upcoming events, like the Kankakee Public Library’s Facebook page. This event will be open and free to the public. Snacks will be provided.

Kankakee Public Library Closing in Observance of Independence Day

The Kankakee Public Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. The library will reopen on Friday, July 5th at 9:00 a.m.

Uke & Me

Join us for Uke & Me, a ukulele play along group! You’ve taken lessons or taught yourself how to play the ukulele. Now, you’re ready to join other players in a strum-along!  Join us for this you-pick/we-pick hour of fun this month on Monday, July8thand 22thfrom 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tai Chi Community Wellness

Join the Kankakee Public Library for a relaxing hour of Tai Chi every second and fourth Tuesday of each month! These sessions from The Community Wellness Group practices deep stretching, flexibility, and works to help create balance and energy. The next Tai Chi meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m.on Tuesday, July9 th and 23 rd.
