The State of Florida announced a new record shattering number of single day COVID-19 cases, announcing 11,458 new cases in the past 24 hours.  Florida now is reporting 6.7% of all cases to date in the U.S. with over 190,000 cases and 3,802 dead in the pandemic.

The previous high was set on Thursday; today over 1,300 cases more than that record.  Florida is now seeing roughly 14% of all tests returned as positive.

By comparison, New York holds the record for most cases by any one state with over 400,000 and 32,000 dead.  Illinois has reported just shy of 150,000 cases since the pandemic began.
