Kankakee County reports 2nd COVID-19 death this week

KANKAKEE – Health officials have reported the 71st death during the pandemic in the county.  It’s the second death this week from COVID-19 reported in Kankakee. 

The death was reported by the Kankakee County Health Department (KCHD) Wednesday afternoon.

KCHD reported 21 new confirmed cases of the pandemic in the county Wednesday.  There have now been 60 new cases reported since Monday, with 2,609 cases since the pandemic began. 

As of Wednesday afternoon, 698 active cases were reported in Kankakee County.
