A man was reportedly injured during a fireworks show in Iroquois County Saturday night after taking a firework directly to the chest at the Ashkum fireworks show.

The show was reportedly cut short and an ambulance arrived on the scene shortly after the accident.

Early reports from family of the victim say the accident left the man with a fractured skull and shrapnel that will need to be removed from the blast.

As of Sunday morning the family reported the man was listed in serious, but stable condition at an area hospital.
