JOLIET, IL – Four shops in Joliet have been shut down for a week following violations of vaping sale laws. This action was taken after a recent operation on November 15th revealed these establishments were allegedly selling vaping materials to underage individuals.

The Illinois Department of Public Health states that selling tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and vapes, to people under 21 is illegal as of July 1, 2019.

The businesses in question have been issued an emergency suspension order for seven days, with the option for the owners to request a hearing within this period. First-time offenders face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to a 30-day suspension.
