Elburn, IL – Starting this Wednesday, Elburn’s downtown area will face a significant roadway closure. The Union Pacific Railroad crossing at Route 47 (Main Street) will be closed from May 1 to May 10 for urgent repairs. This closure will affect the daily commutes and travel plans of many residents and visitors.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Department has announced that traffic will be detoured via Route 38 and Keslinger Road, directing vehicles to the Anderson Road bridge. Commuters are advised to allow extra travel time or to find alternative routes to bypass the closure. Local authorities urge drivers to follow detour signs and practice safe driving near the construction zone to ensure the safety of all road users.
