Chemical Leak in Kane County Triggers Hazmat Response

Montgomery, IL – Emergency crews responded Thursday evening to a reported chemical leak at the Rochester Midland Corporation, located at 2200 Rochester Dr, triggering a large-scale response in Kane County. 

According to multiple sources the incident, which occurred on Thursday evening, resulted in a cloud forming in the area of the facility, prompting an immediate emergency response. Multiple agencies, including the specialized Division 13 Hazmat team and Fermilab, have been deployed to the scene to manage the incident.

Authorities have yet to release details about the type of chemicals involved or the cause of the leak. Residents and businesses in the area are advised to exercise caution and stay informed as the situation develops. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
