NEW LENOX, Ill. – Police arrested an alleged burglar at Cornerstone Jewelers over the weekend.
According to New Lenox Police reports it happened in the early hours Saturday when 32-year-old Norman J. Williams of Olympia Fields, allegedly broke into the store. Surveillance footage later reportedly revealed a black Chevrolet on the scene, with Williams allegedly smashing the store’s front door and making off with jewelry.
Following an investigation, the stolen jewelry was traced to a Chicago Heights pawn shop, leading to Williams’ arrest.
Williams now faces charges of burglary, a Class 2 Felony, and criminal damage to property, a Class 4 Felony.
