Will County Alert: Gas Scare Prompts Swift Evacuation at Rockdale School, Students Safe

Rockdale, IL – Students at Rockdale Public School were evacuated early Wednesday morning after a reported gas smell.

At approximately 9 AM, local authorities were alerted to a minor gas odor at the school located at 715 Meadow Avenue. The Rockdale Police Department confirmed that all students were safely moved to an offsite location and have since received clearance to return.

Firefighters and police swiftly ensured the area was secure, with no reported injuries or major threats. Classes are expected to resume shortly as the situation has been resolved.
