Illinois Fugitive Wanted for Christmas Day Camper Theft Captured

Williamson County, IL – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has successfully apprehended Terry A. Flute, a fugitive wanted on outstanding warrants, including one for the theft of a camper on Christmas Day. In the early hours of April 12, 2024, deputies executed a capture operation, ending a pursuit that started in December 2023.

According to officials, Flute’s evasion from law enforcement came to an end around 3 AM, thanks to the collaborative efforts of local police and legal authorities. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the Johnston City Police Department and Williamson County State’s Attorney Ted Hampson for their assistance in resolving this case. The arrest serves as a reminder of the commitment of local law enforcement to public safety and the importance of inter-agency cooperation.
