MICHIGAN CITY — Modern law enforcement technology, including the Flock Falcon Camera system and the Raven Gunshot Detection, played a crucial role in swiftly apprehending 24-year-old Kenya Atterberry following a heated domestic argument that culminated in a shooting.
According to Michigan City police reports it was on October 18, Atterberry allegedly fired a handgun during a dispute with a 23-year-old female on E 7th Street. The shot fragmented upon hitting the ground, with a piece ricocheting and injuring the woman. She received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at Franciscan Hospital.
Using vehicle details from eyewitnesses, Michigan City Police Cpl. Matthew Babcock tapped into the Flock Falcon Camera system, locating Atterberry and subsequently arresting her. Police recovered a 9mm handgun at the scene.
Atterberry faces charges including Aggravated Battery and Domestic Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon. Held on a $25,000 cash-only bond, she is set for her first court appearance on October 24th.
