Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is poised on the edge of a historical weather event, with temperatures expected to soar into the mid to upper 80s this Thursday.

In Indianapolis, the forecast high of 86 degrees is nearly touching the long-standing record of 87 degrees set in 1959. The US National Weather Service reports that this heat may be accompanied by late afternoon and evening thunderstorms, continuing a pattern of tempestuous weather expected to last until Monday.

Residents are advised to prepare for both the heat and potential storms.
