CHICAGO, IL – The Illinois 4-H Hooks Us Together Fishing Tournament is set to cast off this April, promising a season of competitive angling for the state’s youth. The event is open to all Illinois 4-H members enrolled in a Sport Fishing Project.
According to the Illinois 4-H organization, participants must follow the Illinois Department of Natural Resources fishing regulations. Competitors will need a smartphone to photograph their catch, showcasing the fish’s length for entry submission, which opens on April 1. The tournament runs monthly with different fish in focus: Crappie in April, Largemouth Bass in May, and Channel Catfish in June.
