BOURBONNAIS, IL – The Bourbonnais Public Library District has cemented its status as a community cornerstone, with a remarkable achievement in the 2022-2023 Annual Report – over 120,000 items placed in the eager hands of local readers.

In a year brimming with literary treasures, this figure is a testament to the library’s commitment to serving its 6,792 library cardholders. From physical books to digital resources, the library continues to be the go-to source for knowledge seekers.

Whether you prefer the tactile feel of a printed book or the convenience of an e-book, the Bourbonnais Library caters to all tastes. With 34,442 e-books and digital items checked out, and a staggering 120,142 items in total, it’s clear that the library’s shelves are teeming with diverse literary offerings.

These numbers underscore the library’s enduring relevance in a digital age, proving that the thrill of holding a physical book is irreplaceable. As the heart of the community, the Bourbonnais Library not only provides access to knowledge but also fosters a love for reading and lifelong learning.

The library’s impact extends beyond its collection, as it played a pivotal role in information transactions with 3,027 queries and provided access to the digital world with 8 public computers used 5,184 times. Additionally, 10 mobile hotspots were checked out 298 times, further bridging the digital divide.

Community engagement was at its peak, with 9,463 attendees participating in 421 programs tailored to all age groups and interests. The library’s 3,224 annual service hours reflect its unwavering dedication to serving the community.
