Braidwood, IL – Memorial Day 5K to Impact Local Traffic Sunday

Braidwood, IL – The 2nd Annual Braidwood Memorial Day 5K, sponsored by Constellation, will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, to benefit the Robert Irvine Foundation, supporting service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

According to event organizers, the race will commence at 9:00 a.m. from Braidwood City Park, affecting local roadways until approximately 10:30 a.m. Road closures will begin at 8:45 a.m., with intersections reopening as the last participant passes.

Residents are advised to use extreme caution if they must travel during the race. Designated ingress and egress points include intersections at Center St./First St., Center St./Cermak Rd., Walker St./Cermak Rd., and Walker St./First St. Volunteers and emergency personnel will be present to manage traffic and ensure safety.
