Stepping into darkness can be something of an adventurous thing. You never know what may lurk…or possibly what opportunities are waiting to be found. On Tuesday, Laura Kaye Lind, owner of Papi’s Pizza, dared to try what others would not.
Set up shop in Northfield Square Mall’s empty food court.
“We’ve been having a lot of demand to come into Bradley-Bourbonnais. Real estate prices are not the cheapest, but the mall has been very generous in trying to revive the food court.”
– Laura Kaye Lind, Owner and Manager of Papi’s Pizza
Papi’s takes over the previously occupied spot of Sbarro Pizza, already equipped with a brick stone pizza oven. Lind says the location operates as a limited menu option for dedicated customers of the Kankakee location living in the Bradley, Bourbonnais, Manteno community and offers delivery. Lind explains:
The mall’s current selection of eateries is limited to Auntie Anne’s, Hershey’s Ice Cream and KanSai Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse And Sushi Bar, all located at the far southern end of the estate. Papi’s will be the first restaurant leading the charge of a rebooted food court for Northfield Square, at the northern end of the Mall.

According to Northfield Square Mall’s Facebook page, the Food Court will have four restaurants by August 2019. As Lind says above, the Mall location does not offer a full but limited menu for delivery and carry out. For a full menu from the Kankakee Location, click here.
Papi’s Pizza Northfield Square Mall hours are Mon-Sat 11am-9pm, offering a limited menu and party packages along with carryout/delivery to the surrounding area.
