Bourbonnais residents may soon see census workers coming to their door if they haven’t already replied to the 2020 Census.

During Monday’s village board meeting, Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Schore announced over 75% of all Bourbonnais households had responded to the annual program preformed once every decade.

“It’s very important that you respond to the census,” MPS said Monday night.  “There will be people going door-to-door. It’s not a long or drug-out questions that they ask you.”

Schore said Census workers will be easily identifiable with branding predominantly displayed on their person.  If you have any doubt on the person at your door, contact the Bourbonnais Police. “Those numbers are important for the Village for the next ten years.” Schore said Monday night. “Has a lot to do with our funding.”

Exactly 77% of all households in the village had responded to the Census as of Monday night.
