Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is set for a warm and humid start to the week, with a significant shift in weather expected midweek. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis reports that Monday and Tuesday will see highs ranging from 81 to 88 degrees, with high humidity levels.
According to the NWS, the best chance for showers and thunderstorms will be on Wednesday, with temperatures ranging from 77 to 84 degrees. The likelihood of storms decreases on Tuesday, but residents should remain prepared for potential weather disruptions.
By Thursday, the weather will begin to cool, with highs between 76 and 83 degrees and lower humidity levels. Friday will see further cooling, with temperatures dropping to the low 70s, providing a much-needed respite from the earlier heat and humidity.
Reflecting on the recent spring season, the NWS highlighted that temperatures and precipitation were above normal in central Indiana. Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Lafayette recorded average high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, approximately 4 to 5 degrees above normal. Precipitation levels were also higher, with Bloomington seeing 14.88 inches, Indianapolis 15.50 inches, and Lafayette 12.23 inches.
