BOURBONNAIS, IL – Energy was abuzz in Bourbonnais Wednesday as Connect Roasters launches its very first café, with Chicago Cubs All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner Ian Happ making a special appearance. This landmark event for the company, which has been fueling coffee drinkers with its signature dark roast since 2016, drew fans from across Illinois for an exclusive meet-and-greet.
Caleb Benoit, who founded Connect Roasters after being inspired by mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Haiti, celebrated the opening at 141 S. Main St. Alongside Happ, an investor and the face of the brand, they shared the joyous occasion with the local community. The event was a home run, with all 25 tickets quickly sold out, underscoring the community’s support for the venture.
The café’s debut strengthens Bourbonnais’ connection to the Cubs, a town already linked to the team through World Series MVP Ben Zobrist, an Olivet Nazarene University alum. As Connect Roasters’ physical presence begins, the focus is on creating a space where coffee and community meet, continuing to serve and support the regions that cultivate their coffee.
