Chicago, IL – Midwest Braces for Winter Weather: Snowfall, Sub-Zero Wind Chills

Chicago, IL – Chicago and the surrounding Midwest region are preparing for a wintry mix of weather conditions in the coming days. 

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, snow is expected to fall tonight, with some areas receiving up to 3 inches. A more significant snowfall of 1-3 inches is forecasted for Thursday night into early Friday. Following this, northwest Indiana will experience lake effect snow from Friday into Friday night.

The region will see a brief period of moderate temperatures and wind chills this afternoon through Thursday, but this will be short-lived as another wave of sub-zero wind chills is predicted from Friday night through Sunday morning. 

Additionally, the National Weather Service warns of continued localized ice jam flooding on area rivers throughout the week. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on the latest weather developments.
