CHICAGO, IL – Two male juveniles from the Chicago were arrested for a daring armed robbery that unfolded at a Dunkin Donuts Saturday.
According to Oak Park Police the suspects, aged 16 and 17, were taken into custody after brazenly storming the establishment, brandishing a handgun, and terrorizing employees.
Police reports say it happened at 5:42 PM and 7:11 PM in the 800 block of S. Maple and 700 block of S. Harlem, left patrons and employees shaken. The assailants, identified as Chicago residents, allegedly pointed their weapon at the store’s staff, demanding and making off with a substantial sum of U.S. currency swiped from the cash registers.
The swift response of law enforcement resulted in the capture of the suspects, who were also found in possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The teens were charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, adding to their growing list of offenses.
