Chicago, IL – Wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph are expected to sweep through the Chicagoland area today and Friday, bringing windy conditions and seasonal temperatures, the US National Weather Service reported.
According to the National Weather Service, maximum gusts will range from 35-40 mph today, and 25-30 mph on Friday. Residents can expect temperatures to hover between 73-80°F today, dropping slightly to 69-78°F on Friday. The gustiest conditions are anticipated to affect the inland areas, while regions closer to the lake shore will experience somewhat cooler temperatures.
As the weekend approaches, the weather will stabilize with more comfortable conditions. Saturday’s forecast predicts temperatures between 73-78°F, with a chance of showers and potentially a thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening. Sunday will see slightly cooler temperatures, ranging from 65-75°F, with partly cloudy skies and minimal precipitation expected. The lake shore areas will continue to experience cooler temperatures compared to inland regions throughout the weekend.
