Conductor’s Warning Horn Unheeded in Fatal Train Accident, Police Seek Witnesses

South Bend, IN – A man was killed in a train collision despite the conductor’s attempts to warn him. The fatal event occurred near the West Street Crossing around 4 a.m. Wednesday, as reported by the Mishawaka Police.

According to the investigation, the train’s conductor noticed a 43-year-old man perilously close to the tracks and repeatedly sounded the horn in an attempt to alert him. Tragically, these efforts were unsuccessful. The man’s body was subsequently found near the tracks. Mishawaka Police are now urgently requesting information from the public.
