Hoffman Estates, IL – Residents in Hoffman Estates can begin preparing for the village’s annual spring branch pickup program, which officially starts Sunday, April 20, with service for Zone A.

According to the Village of Hoffman Estates Government, this curbside collection program is separate from the regular yard waste service and comes with its own set of requirements. Residents must neatly stack branches at the curb by 7 a.m. on their scheduled pickup day, ensuring the cut ends face the street. Branches should not be bundled or placed in containers and must not block sidewalks or extend into the roadway.

Public Works crews will collect tree branches under 8 inches in diameter or 10 feet in length, along with shrub trimmings and similar brush. Branches from willow trees will also be accepted if they are separated from other materials.

However, several items are excluded from pickup. Crews will not collect tree trunks, stumps, root balls, firewood, railroad ties, landscape timbers, or yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, sod, or plants.

Officials emphasize that crews will make only one pass per street and will not return for missed pickups. Residents are urged to have materials ready on time to avoid missing service.

The full collection schedule and additional program details are available on the village’s official website. Residents across Hoffman Estates, located in Cook County near the Chicago metro area, are encouraged to review zone-specific dates to ensure proper participation.
