Domestic Dispute Leads to Aurora Township Standoff, No Injuries

AURORA TOWNSHIP — A domestic altercation on Parkside Avenue took a tense turn when a man allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm. 

According to reports Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies, officers responded at 6:22 am Tuesday morning.  The male suspect reportedly fled, barricading himself upon their arrival. After successful negotiations, the standoff ended without injuries. 

The woman, in a dating relationship with the suspect, sustained minor injuries. The 45-year-old suspect, William D. Spates of Aurora, Illinois, will face pending charges. The incident, contained to one location, received joint assistance from Aurora Police and Fire Departments.
