CHICAGO – Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Maxi-Cosi Pria 85 Convertible child seats.

The announcement came after it was found the seat may not adequately protect a child from head injury in event of a crash.

“If the seat is installed with only the lap belt, the child has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.” The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported.

The recall affects nearly 83,000 units. There have not been any injuries reported due to the risk. The car seats were sold on Amazon along with other retailers.

Owners of the car seats can contact the NHTSA via hotline at 1-888-327-4239 or online at nhtsa.gov for more details. You can also contact a Maxi-Cosi customer service representative by calling 877-657-9546, emailing Pria85recall@djgusa.com or visiting consumercare.maxicosi.com/s/contactsupport.
