DuPage County, IL – Semi vs. Bucket Truck Crash in Lombard Fatal, Service Worker Killed

Lombard, IL – A collision between a semi and a bucket truck in Lombard, Illinois, has led to the death of a worker, with another sustaining serious injuries. 

According to Lombard police reports the incident occurred on Route 53 at North Avenue around 8:27 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Upon arrival, responders found the vehicles involved in a devastating crash, with two workers critically injured. Both were rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital by Lombard Firefighter/Paramedics, where one worker was later pronounced dead.

The investigation into the fatal crash is underway, spearheaded by the Lombard Police Department with assistance from the DuPage MERIT Major Crash Investigation Unit.
