Kansas City, MO – Rain will linger in central Missouri this morning before gradually shifting to the east. While eastern Kansas and western Missouri are expected to stay dry today, weather conditions in central Missouri are poised for changes as the weekend progresses.

According to the US National Weather Service, residents in central Missouri should be prepared for possible fog early Sunday morning. This could reduce visibility and impact travel, so motorists are advised to exercise caution. Although storms are also possible Sunday morning, the threat of severe weather during this time remains low.

The probability of precipitation increases significantly as we head into Sunday night and Monday. Areas such as Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, and Kirksville could see a higher chance of storms, with the potential for strong to severe weather late Sunday into Monday. The forecast indicates that the highest probability of precipitation, around 80%, will occur on Monday in central Missouri, particularly impacting cities like Moberly and Maryville.
