KANKAKEE, IL – A dispute between parents took a terrifying turn on Friday at Millie Proegler School when a heated argument escalated into a shocking display of violence, leaving witnesses stunned.
The situation grew out of control as one parent allegedly brandished a firearm within the premises of the educational institution.
Kankakee Police responded to the scene, but the alleged individuals involved had already left the school. Later, both parents were arrested and charged with allegations of Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Details behind the incident and what sparked the arrests have not been released. City police did not release name’s associated with todays incident, however the suspects were later identified through booking records as 28-year-old Tayla L Davis and 29-year-old Rontez D Brooks, both residents of Kankakee.
Both Davis and Brooks are now being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
