Manteno, IL – During Tuesday’s Kankakee County Board meeting, the board gave the green light to rezone the old administration building at the former Manteno State Hospital Campus.

What’s even more intriguing is that this iconic structure is soon to be the home of The Vintage Purse Museum NFP (Non-For Profit).

The three-story brick building, once bustling with office life, most recently served as the Midland State Bank Corporate Office. However, the winds of change are blowing, and the area has been successfully rezoned from residential to commercial, paving the way for the exciting venture of the Vintage Purse Museum.

With plans to unveil its treasures in 2024, this unique Non-Profit is set to weave history, fashion, and culture into a tapestry of handbag elegance in a historic setting right here in Manteno.
