The State of Illinois announced earlier this week it will stop regular weekend updates on COVID-19 on the weekend.
Saturday marks the first time in nearly two months Governor J.B. Pritzker will not appear in front of a microphone to address citizens of the State and answer questions in regards to the many questions surrounding both the Stay-at-Home order and Coronavirus.
Due to the change in reporting tactics, the Illinois Department of Public Health will still continue to release regular 24-hour data during afternoon hours.Â
The first release since the change is anticipated for later this afternoon. Illinois Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said Illinois now has a total of 73,760 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 3,241 deaths as of Friday.
