Over 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in New York. That announcement comes today after 7,584 residents were processed Wednesday night.

Just days ago, the State was only testing a few hundred people per day.

A testing increase is thanks to dozens of private laboratories across the state were authorized to test for COVID-19.  Up until then, it was just two government labs carrying most of the load. A total of over 5,200 cases of COVID-19 have now been reported in the State of New York with over 750 citizens hospitalized.

President Trump announced on Wednesday two Navy hospital ships were headed to the city, yet one, The Comfort, is still docked in port for maintenance.  The other’s home port, The Mercy, is based in San Diego.
