Lake County, IN – Commuters in Lake County are advised to prepare for a change in their travel routes as the Indiana Department of Transportation announces a closure on State Road 51.
According to the department’s Facebook update, a section of State Road 51 will be closed for bridge superstructure replacement over Deep River starting from March 11 until mid-July. The closure will affect the stretch between Ainsworth Rd and 62nd Place.
Motorists are directed to use the official detour routes via U.S. 6, I-94, I-65, and U.S. 30 during this period. This infrastructure upgrade is a critical step in maintaining road safety and transportation efficiency in the region.
