Elkhart County, Indiana – A 1-year-old and a 2-year-old were put in danger as their SUV driver, an Indiana woman, nodded off behind the wheel.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators report that the startling crash occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, along County Road 32, just west of County Road 43. The 22-year-old woman, piloting the vehicle, succumbed to exhaustion, veering off the road, colliding with a tree stump, and ultimately overturning.

Fortunately, the accident resulted in non-life-threatening injuries, with both infants taken to the hospital for body pain and minor cuts. Both youngsters were securely restrained when calamity struck, offering a fortunate twist in an otherwise harrowing tale of drowsy driving.
