Joliet Officer pinned between vehicles during traffic stop in Wendy’s parking lot

JOLIET– A Officer is recovering after being pinned in between two vehicles by a suspect during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

According to Joliet Police, it happened at 3:33 pm when an officer conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Wendy’s at 104 North Center Street.  Reports say while the stop was being conducted, the suspect’s vehicle struck and pinned a officer between two vehicles.

Officers assisting on the scene fired on the suspect.  The officer is in stable condition while the suspects’ condition is unknown at this time.

The Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
