According to the announcement, community members can schedule a vaccination appointment by calling 815-802-9400 and selecting option 3. The health department has also directed individuals to the CDC’s website for more information on measles and the importance of vaccination.

Measles is an airborne disease, and unprotected individuals have a high risk of infection if exposed. The CDC highlights that 9 out of 10 people in close proximity to an infected person will likely contract measles if they are not immune, underlining the critical need for vaccination.
