Kankakee Firefighters Quickly Contain West Side Garage Fire Overnight

Kankakee, IL – A fire erupted in a garage on Kankakee’s west side early Saturday, drawing a rapid response from local fire crews. 

The fire, which caused significant damage to the structure, was successfully contained without spreading to adjacent buildings, although nearby garages suffered minor heat damage.

According to Kankakee Firefighters Local 653, the incident occurred around midnight and required multiple fire companies to manage the situation effectively. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and firefighters were able to prevent further property damage. 

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, as community safety remains a top priority.
