Farmingdale, ME – A routine traffic stop in Kennebec County escalated into a multi-agency investigation that led to three people being arrested and facing alleged drug trafficking charges.
According to Maine State Police, the stop happened Sunday when troopers with the Central Field Troop pulled over an SUV for a motor vehicle violation in Farmingdale. During the stop, troopers reportedly developed probable cause to believe the driver, identified as 32-year-old Samantha Robinson of Augusta, was allegedly operating under the influence. Robinson was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
Authorities said a front-seat passenger, 61-year-old Sheena Wright of Augusta, was also allegedly taken into custody on an active Failure to Appear misdemeanor warrant unrelated to the traffic stop.
Further investigation revealed more serious allegations involving a rear-seat passenger. Police said 19-year-old Nevaeh Harris of New York City allegedly provided troopers with a false name during the stop. As the investigation continued, Harris was allegedly found to be in possession of approximately 44.9 grams of cocaine base and 8.8 grams of fentanyl.
Harris now faces multiple charges, including two counts of unlawful trafficking of cocaine base, one count of aggravated trafficking of fentanyl, and one count of falsifying physical evidence, according to authorities. Wright and Harris were transported to the Kennebec County Jail.
The incident remains under investigation as officials continue to review evidence connected to the stop. No additional details have been released at this time.
