Lake County, IL – Student Charged with Bomb Threat at Local Middle School

Lake County, IL – A student from Big Hollow Middle School in Lake County, Illinois, has been charged following a bomb threat that led to a significant law enforcement response. 

According to the Lake County Illinois Sheriff’s Department, the threat, which occurred earlier today, prompted an immediate search of the school. No bomb was found. Investigators traced the threat back to a device owned by a student, who was absent from school at the time. Upon contacting the student at their home, it was determined that they did not have the means to carry out the threat. 

The student, whose identity has not been released, is now facing criminal charges and will be processed through the juvenile court system. Further information is expected to be released by the school district.
