Lake County, Illinois: Child Struck by Bullet, Juvenile Arrested

Zion, IL – A 4-year-old girl was struck in the head by a bullet on the 2200 block of Galilee Avenue on Saturday, Zion police reported.

According to Zion Police, the child, who was conscious and alert, was transported to a local hospital with a minor wound and released later that day. Officers discovered evidence from at least two firearms and noted damage to vehicles and buildings.

A 17-year-old suspect was arrested near his apartment and referred to a juvenile detention center for aggravated discharge of a firearm. Police are seeking additional suspects as the investigation continues.
