Anonymous Tip Leads to Arrest of Man with Warrant Found Working on University of Illinois Campus

CHAMPAIGN, IL – Nicholas D. Orlandini, 39, of Champaign, was arrested at 6:17 p.m. Thursday at Newman Hall, located at 604 E. Armory Ave., on a Champaign County warrant for a probation violation.  Orlandini was apprehended by law enforcement after an anonymous tip alerted police that he was working at Newman Hall and had an outstanding warrant. 

A warrant (#20150-DT-211) was issued by Judge Olmstead and pertains to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, with an offense date of April 20, 2023. Bond was set at $10,000 with a 10% cash bond requirement.

Orlandini’s arrest on an alleged probation violation charge comes after he allegedly failed to comply with the terms of his probation, resulting in the issuance of the warrant. 

Further details about the probation violation were not immediately available. Orlandini is currently being held at the Champaign County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
