Brinks Armored Truck Robbed Again in Calumet City

CALUMET CITY, Ill. – Just over two weeks after a Brinks armored truck driver was robbed outside of the Big Lots store in Calumet City on River Oaks Drive, another similar incident occurred in the area.

According to Calumet City spokesperson Sean Howard, the robbery happened on Wednesday morning around 9:35 a.m. when the armored truck was parked in front of Bank Financial at 1901 Sibley Blvd. It remains unclear how much was taken, and no injuries were reported.

The suspects reportedly fled westbound towards the Bishop Ford Freeway after the robbery. Further details on the suspects have not been made available at this time.

The suspects in the previous incident on March 27th were described as male, wearing gray and black hooded jackets and pulling out weapons during the robbery. It is unclear whether the two incidents are connected.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in either of these incidents. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robberies to come forward and assist with the investigations.
