Hebron, IN – In a decisive blow against an alleged ATM theft ring plaguing Indiana, the Indiana State Police SWAT unit executed a series of high-stakes search warrants in Hebron.
The crack team of law enforcement professionals stormed a residence Thursday morning located at 107 S. Main St., bringing an end to a crime spree that had spanned several counties.
The elaborate operation was the result of an intensive investigation led by LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department Captain Andy Hynek and Indiana State Trooper Jace Haddon. This collaborative effort involved multiple law enforcement agencies from across northwest and central Indiana, including Logansport Police, Kouts Police, Newton County Sheriff’s Department, Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, and many others.
According to Indiana State Police, the criminal network had allegedly orchestrated ATM thefts in various parts of northern Indiana, causing substantial losses to businesses and individuals. Additionally, their audacious heists extended to the theft of a motorcycle from the Michigan City Harley Davidson Shop.
Thursday’s raids resulted in three arrests, two of whom were suspected key players in the ATM theft ring. Branden L. Tweedy, 23, and Blake A. Freeman Tweedy, 41, both hailing from Hebron, IN, were taken into custody. Both are now facing charges of Burglary (Level 5 Felony) and Theft (Level 6 Felony), with stolen property values ranging from $750 to $50,000.
The third arrestee, Devin B. Tweedy, 19, also from Hebron, IN, was apprehended for Failure to Appear for Operating Without Ever Receiving a License.
